The project aims to contribute to the stability in the Sahelian region of Chad by strengthening resilience, sustainable local development and increasing economic opportunities.

This report examines issues related to gender inequality and building resilience, looking at the degree of women's participation at the community level, and the status of women's leadership. It identifies challenges and root causes of the exclusion and discrimination of women and girls in accessing and using productive resources and decision making at household and community levels, including discriminatory social, religious and cultural norms, women's lack of access to information and knowledge, and their differentiated needs.

Among the report’s recommendations are the organization and capacity building of local actors, inclusion and participation of young people and women, advocacy for the commitment of the authorities and the integration of a representative multi-actor approach in local governance systems.

en_US
