This article focuses on a development project in Rwanda which directly addresses the connections between conflict and poverty. It is based on the idea that peace in communities that have suffered violent conflict will be promoted if individuals, groups, and institutions are able to manage conflict in a constructive and non-violent manner. Conflict management can also lead to greater livelihood sustainability for communities, by enhancing equitable access to resources and decision-making processes, and ensuring that decision-making bodies are accountable to all. This article is hosted by our co-publisher Taylor & Francis.
