Can women in Latin America and the Caribbean really exercise their sexual and reproductive rights? Are economic globalisation and state policies in our region creating conditions which will help us claim the rights we have gained in international fora, or are we going in the opposite direction? And is it possible to have a society which respects human rights under a neo-liberal model of development? These questions were asked in a workshop at the Association for Women in Development (AWID) Forum, which focused on the new Campaign for an Inter-American Convention on Sexual Rights and Reproductive Rights. This article is hosted by our co-publisher Taylor & Francis.
