Mama Cash is an independent organisation that is committed to changing and improving the position of women, through providing both financial and moral support to women's groups and entrepreneurs. Although Mama Cash is relatively small, its feminist vision is broad and worldwide. It aims to support innovative projects that mainstream organisations avoid, and so enable women to achieve their dreams. This article describes how Mama Cash started, what the organisation's perspectives are on the role of money in social change, and how the organisation relates to the women's movement. The article also highlights what we have learned in our work so far. This article is hosted by our co-publisher Taylor & Francis.
