Description
<html> <head> <title></title> </head> <body> <p>Alisia Evans and Sharon Bhagwan Rolls use a feminist analysis of Pacific regional Women, Peace and Security (WPS) mechanisms to highlight Pacific feminist peacebuilders&#8217; efforts to localize regional peace and security policies through gender-transformative peacebuilding practices. Their essay shows how Pacific peacebuilding networks operate through traditional and customary systems and engage with faith leaders in efforts to prevent the resurgence of armed conflict. The authors illustrate the importance of understanding the&#160;different community&#160;structures that influence the status of women across the Pacific&#160;Islands, from traditional leaders to the police and security forces as well as local-level government.</p> <p>This essay is part of a collection on feminist peacebuilding.
