Description
This article looks at action-research into the interests and needs of older women in 11 urban communities in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. The research was instigated by Aquelarre (CEAPA), with help from International Co-operation for Development (ICD); Fundompromued (the Dominican Foundation for the Protection of Women of the Third Age); and informal women's groups. The findings of the research have become the basis of further community development work, which is being undertaken by the older women themselves.
