Description
In response to the 1992 drought in the Eastern province of Zambia, Oxfam held four community workshops in which local people decided upon action to address their most urgent needs. Hundreds of women attended our four workshops in the worst hit areas of Petauke and Nyimba: Luembe, Nyalugwe, Kalindawalo and
Mwape. The women who came were able to participate fully in all discussions and finally got a place in their village leadership, thanks to their great determination.
