Description

Created in partnership with Schools of Sanctuary, this resource for 11-16 year olds enables learners to think about why refugees leave their homes, what challenges they face, how welcoming the UK is to those seeking asylum, and our fundamental human rights.

Learners can then turn their attention to their own school and the welcome it provides. The aim of the resource is to encourage learners to initiate their school becoming a School of Sanctuary. The structure and content is suitable for all schools, no matter how diverse or homogenous; because when young people feel safe and welcome, they can all thrive and reach their potential.

Oxfam is grateful for the support of Postcode Heroes Trust, funded by players of the People's Postcode Lottery, in the development of these materials.

Crewyd yr adnodd hwn mewn partneriaeth ag Ysgolion Noddfa, ac mae'n galluogi i ddysgwyr feddwl pam fod ffoaduriaid yn gadael eu cartrefi, pa heriau sy'n eu hwynebu, pa mor groesawgar yw'r Deyrnas Unedig i rai sy'n ceisio lloches, a'n hawliau dynol sylfaenol.

Gall y myfyrwyr wedyn droi eu sylw at eu hysgol eu hunain a'r croeso y mae'n ei ddarparu. Nod yr adnodd yw annog pobl ifanc i gychwyn ar y broses o ddatblygu'u hysgol i fod yn Ysgol Noddfa. Mae'r strwythur a'r cynnwys yn addas i bob ysgol, waeth ba mor amrywiol neu unffurf ydyw; oherwydd pan fydd myfyrwyr yn teimlo'n ddiogel a'u bod yn cael eu croesawu, gallant oll ffynnu a chyflawni eu potensial.
