<html> <head> <title></title> </head> <body> <p>This study of gender aspects of resilience is part of the project &#39;employment, resilience and social cohesion in the Sahelian belt and the Lake Chad zone&#39;<b> &#8211;</b> &#8216;RESTE/Trust Fund&#8217;. The project aims to contribute to the stability in the Sahelian region of Chad by strengthening resilience, sustainable local development and increasing economic opportunities.</p> <p>This report examines issues related to gender inequality and building resilience, looking at the degree of women&#39;s participation at the community level, and the status of women&#39;s leadership. It identifies challenges and root causes of the exclusion and discrimination of women and girls in accessing and using productive resources and decision making at household and community levels, including discriminatory social, religious and cultural norms, women&#39;s lack of access to information and knowledge, and their differentiated needs.</p> <p>Among the report&#8217;s recommendations are the organization and capacity building of local actors, inclusion and participation of young people and women, advocacy for the commitment of the authorities and the integration of a representative multi-actor approach in local governance systems.</p> <p>L&#8217;&#233;tude sur la dimension de genre dans la construction de r&#233;silience s&#8217;encadre dans les provinces du Kanem, Bahr el Gazal et Lac du projet <b><i>Emploi, r&#233;silience et coh&#233;sion sociale dans la bande sah&#233;lienne et la zone du Lac Tchad</i></b> commun&#233;ment appel&#233; &#171; RESTE/Trust Fund &#187;, dont l&#8217;objective est de contribuer &#224; la stabilit&#233; de la bande sah&#233;lienne du Tchad en renfor&#231;ant la r&#233;silience, le d&#233;veloppement local durable et en accroissant les opportunit&#233;s &#233;conomiques.&#160;</p> <p>L&#8217;&#233;tude cherche &#224; am&#233;liorer la compr&#233;hension des enjeux li&#233;s aux in&#233;galit&#233;s de genre et les implications pour la construction de r&#233;silience, dans les trois provinces du projet, &#224; travers une meilleure compr&#233;hension du degr&#233; (les avanc&#233;es et les obstacles) de la participation des femmes au niveau communautaire, et de la situation en mati&#232;re de leadership des femmes.</p> </body> </html>
