Description
In this book, the theme of transition is treated in an innovative and holistic way to include not only the changeover to democracy and free-market economics in former Eastern-bloc countries, but other forms of major social and personal transformation, such as change resulting from armed conflict, and the process of ageing. The emphasis is on understanding the effects of transition on women's lives, and the strategies they are adopting for coping with change.
