Description
Part of the 2009 'Stories of Change' initiative, the Cotton Textile Supply Chain (CTSC) Project aims to increase the income, bargaining power and control over markets for both men and women workers engaged in cotton farming, traditional handloom weaving, and factory-based manufacturing in the states of Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Initially launched in 2002, the project now forms part of the larger India Agricultural Scale-Up programme and will be implemented through 2011. This mid-term evaluation focused on three outcomes for the cotton farming intervention and four outcomes for the weaving intervention. For both components, the evaluators aimed to measure progress toward stated outcomes and, in cases where accomplishments are attributable to Oxfam's support, to highlight key 'stories of change' that document and promote these linkages.
