Description
The number of Indian women in management positions is low, but rising. The author presents a 'typical' female manager and treatment by male counterparts, revealing a widespread struggle to reverse traditional gender roles. How can the situation be improved? Organisational culture is a huge problem and changing male attitudes is key. Working women need to network with each other and with men. The article focuses on a project by the 'Administrative Staff College of India'. Interviews and workshops were held for men and women in management to discuss their positions and aspirations. The findings of this project are at the end of this article.
